I find that microwaving a stick of butter for around 15 seconds makes it perfectly soft. Depends on your microwave though.
I’d do that, but our microwave is (relatively) new and I have no idea how to run it so I don’t like using it… when we nuke butter it tends to just disintegrate into a puddle after 3 seconds and if it’s running for longer than a minute every appliance in the kitchen shuts down 8| Someday I’m sure I’ll figure out the settings but today is not that day orz…
